Eastern Water Development - Oxford, CT
Summary: New web site planning and development for a provider of residential and industrial water Management Services
Objectives: Marketing and promotion - increase commercial exposure, dispell negative industry image. Build community awareness
Challenges: Find a way to connect with customers and prospects in a non-obtrusive way.
Educate about their broad range of services, and to dispell the common
myth that well-drilling companies simply put holes in the ground.
Solutions: Information was the key to enlightenment for Eastern Water Development. Through more than sixty pages,
they explain each aspect of their business in detail . Even with this vast repository of information,
no page is more than three clicks away from the home page.

Raymond Loewy Foundation International (RLFI)
Summary: Develop a web site to promote the RLFI image internationally. Raymond Loewy was the
designer of memorable things such as the Greyhound bus, Air Force One,
The Studebaker and much more.
Primary Objective: Promote the image of RLFI, educate the public about
Raymond Loewy, The Foundation and the awards presented each year.
Challenges: International web site, multiple languages (Japanese, French, German, English),
multiple companies involved in the design effort.
Solutions: Developed a Flash presentation highlighting Raymond Loewy's life and
a high level view of the foundations activities. Developed the
HTML version of the site to provide expansive information on the foundation, the RLFI Designer
Award and the Junior Designer Award presented by different countries
annually.

Double D Western Wear and Tack
Summary: Existing Web Site Redesign/Update for a provider of Western Apparel and Equestrian Tack Supplies.
Primary Objective: Direct-to-Consumer Retail Sales to supplement brick and mortar business.
Challenges: A short time frame, large inventory, and limited budget were all important
factors in this web site redesign project. The ability to frequently update merchandise to reflect
seasonal specials and yearly fashion cycles was essential.
Solutions: A customized e-commerce solution that allowed their customers to browse,
select, and purchase items quickly, easily, and securely. The look and feel of the site maintained a festive touch, moving away from attempts to
cyberize a very personal, friendly, and laid back industry.

S.H. Smith and Company
Summary: Replacement web site to improve online image and provide applications to customers.
Primary Objective: Provide customers with easy access to information needed to conduct business with S.H. Smith
Challenges: Provide many applications online in an easy to use method. Create an interface for self updating of the sites information.
Solutions: An online search program was created to allow customers to search through the applications in various ways including a free
form search. A Java desktop application based on XML/XSL was created that allowed specific employees at S.H. Smith to update pre-determined areas of the web site.

Connecticut Appliance and Fireplace Distributors
Summary: CAFD had a web site that was not doing the brick and mortar part of the business justice at all. Along with redoing the
existing showroom, the web site was redone. CAFD is Southern New England's premier kitchen and hearth distributor.
Primary Objective: Reflect the size and quality of the CAFD business online. The site was to be clean, yet provide some level of
excitement through the use of animation.
Challenges: Many products to represent, low budget.
Solutions: Constructed a site that merged the use of HTML and Flash bites. The finished site met all the objectives.

Creative Versetility
Summary: Web Site for a Custom-made Greeting Cards and Accessories manufacturer and distributor
Primary Objective: Direct-to-Consumer Retail Sales, Online Distributor Sales, Distributor Promotion,
Support of Traditional Marketing Activities
Challenges: Change the focus of their existing web site, which had been designed to
promote their products to potential retail distributors. They now wished to use their site to sell directly to
consumers, while still providing relevant information to distributors.
Solutions: Their site was redesigned to appeal to their new target, upper-income women.
The design and site structure were specifically implemented to promote ease-of-use and simplicity in an online
world that some can find confusing and intimidating.
