This is probably the most common, and also the hardest question to answer without a deeper look into what you want to accomplish. This is much like asking "How much will a car cost me?", before picking a style, model, brand and features. Some features affect the cost of a web site to a large degree... Such as how much Flash animation will there be? Is it an E-Commerce site? How much information will be on the site? How much involvement will your organization have in providing the content? From our experience the amount of time it takes to build a web site is not proportional to the size of the web site. The single biggest factor in any of our web site development projects has been the customer involvement. The amount of time it takes for one of our developers to make a page is small in comparison to how long it takes for the client to write and provide content, review the pages and get approvals. We constantly seek new ways to minimize the amount of time it takes for approvals. In early 2003, we built an entire web site start to finish including online ticket sales in less than 48 hours. The client was very motivated.
